Ariadne Montenegro is a NYC based actress and filmmaker. Raised in NYC, she attended Fiorello H. Laguardia High School as an art major and completed her studies at The New School for Drama with a concentration in acting and a minor in screenwriting. Her work focuses on the voices of the marginalized in hopes of normalizing their experience in the mainstream media.
Montenegro’s short film, “The Cat Can Dance” was screened at the NYC Semi-Finals 2019 by Official Latino and chosen as an official selection for Indie Short Fest and Indie X Short Fest. In 2020 it was selected as a semi-finalist for The New York Latino Film Festival.
In October 2021, she became a recipient for a City Artist Corps grant to produce her new short horror film, Just Sister Things. The short film features actors, Yuliana Sleme, A.K. Ibrahim and Montenegro herself. “Just Sister Things” premiered online October 28th on YouTube. Subsequently on April 23, 2022, Just Sister Things screened at Mott Haven Film Festival : Halloween in April, alongside 8 other independent short horror films. Then two years later, Just Sister Things screened once again with Mott Haven Film Festival at New York Comic Con.
You can see Montenegro featured as a tea party attendee in Bailey Bryan’s music video “Pressure.” Also in the short film, “Tell ‘Em” by Veronica Lupo, playing the character Blanca and most recently in “Fever Dreamer,” by Audrey E. Lorber, playing the lead, Pepper.
